Commissioned Blue Ridge Mountains Bowl

In August 2017, Paul accepted a commission to create a very large carved bowl with images of the Blue Ridge Mountains plus family names in the design. Big ceramics can be fragile during their creation, so Paul made four bowls to be sure that one would turn out the way the customer wanted. This was wise because one of the bowls cracked during drying and two were damaged during the high fire process. One of these was repaired and the customer ended up purchasing both of the finished bowls.  Paul delivered the bowls on time, in December 2018.
